With the current cases of COVID 19 viruses worldwide still increasing, we need to be considering all the measures we can take to protect ourselves. At the moment there is no such thing as too much caution.

So far the precautionary measures issued by international health organizations have been:

1. Wearing surgical masks;

2. Washing Hands Frequently with alcohol or soap;

3. Cover your mouth and nose when you are coughing and sneezing;

4. Keep a safe distance from people, especially people you do not know;

5. Restrict outside time altogether;

6. Eat Vitamins;

7. Do some form of exercise to remain healthy.

However, as nationwide lockdowns in Europe and North America are beginning to be introduced, China is beginning to reduce their restrictions and begin to slowly go back to normal. With the introduction of looser restrictions and people beginning to go back to work means there will be an increase in people going back onto public transport and back into open work offices. However, a significant proportion of patients diagnosed with COVID 19 were infected via airplanes, trains, buses and any form of public transport. In an attempt to prevent the spread of COVID 19 and improve public serialization, major airports across Asia and the United States have begun using UVC sterilization robots to disinfect cabins and buildings.

Why Use UVC Good For Sterilization?

Using Ultraviolet light as a way to sterilize and the area is a fast and efficient way. Germicidal fluorescent lamps can kill viruses, bacteria and protozoa and even larger organisms. Sterilization UVC comes approximately at a wavelength between 240nm-280nm. This is the most effective range in disinfecting an area.

How Does UVC Kill Bacteria and Viruses?

UVC sterilizes areas and kills or inactivates microorganisms by destroying their nucleic acid or breaking their DNA and RNA chains of microbial cells. The positive about how UVC effects microorganisms are how they break DNA and RNA chains, as every strand of coronavirus is a single strand positive RNA virus. Meaning UV lights will have an effect on disinfecting an area with any potentially harmful bacteria or coronaviruses.

UV Lighting Sterilization A Step Forward

Now as you can see UV sterilization lamps are being used all over the world. Wuhan hospitals, Chinese airports, and airports and hospitals across the world are now beginning to adopt this strategy. The reason is that they much smaller amounts of resources and chemicals; they can disinfect large areas incredibly quickly and they can be easily directed and used in any building or mode of transport.

It Worth Buying A UV Light to Sterilize Your Home?

In the current climate, any form of precautionary measure is important. With cleaning resources being rationed and disinfectant also running low, a UV Sterilization light would be a good idea. They kill 99.9% of germs and bacteria and will definitely reduce the number of viruses and bacteria in your home.

When it comes to the current climate to reduce our chances of being exposed to COVID 19 we need to follow all of the necessary precautions. If we follow each of the guidelines and do as best as we can with social distancing our chances of becoming sick or infected are reduced much lower. We all need to pull together and take the guidelines seriously in order to promote a healthier better world!
